Hex (13×13)
Hex (13×13) — large board
A larger board for deeper strategic play. With 169 cells, multiple independent fronts can develop simultaneously, making defensive play more viable and rewarding long-term positional thinking.
Differences from Standard
Same rules as 11×11 Hex (including swap rule). The additional space allows ladder fights to extend further before reaching an edge, and reduces the proportion of the board that edge templates can cover. First-player advantage is slightly reduced. Games typically run 30-60 minutes. Popular on online platforms as the next step up from tournament standard.
